Recorded at 11:54PM on April 27I wrote this back in August and I’ve only played it out once but a woman came up to me after and said she was going to call her dad who she hadn’t talked to in months the next morning. If a simple song can do that, I think maybe there’s value in pouring myself into this here guitar night after night.My dad would have been 77 Monday and to get ahead of any misconceptions cherry pie is my least favorite dessert, and I doubt my dad had any particular affinity for it either. But there’s certainly a story behind that line. I ate some key-lime pie and planted 14 trees with WPKND on his birthday weekend.
