New Frontiers

Hi All-

As artists, we're all working in uncharted territory right now. Shows are cancelled and income has come to a halt. We're left with nothing but time to reassess, create, cry, be confused, do nothing, and maybe even do everything we've been putting off. I have been on a bit of a roller coaster since the shut down, but I'm incredibly thankful for the people in my life that have helped me power through. Here's a bit of what I've been working on since I've been hunkered down in my house:

I had the great fortune of heading down to Akron to play a live stream at Ben Gage's house at the start of the shutdown. I also helped Meg Stepka launch her first edition of the 48 hr Live Stream. I started the Cleveland Songwriter Challenge Group on Facebook and have been working with local songwriters to keep our heads up and write at least one new song every week. I went quarantine caroling with my roommate, Heather all over Cleveland and gave musical hugs to friends who I miss dearly at a safe distance. I've worked with Luke on building out our duo set. I've practiced guitar semi-regularly and am feeling much more confident in my soloing- though there's still a ways to go! I've set up my studio for live streaming, and am almost ready to launch my first true in-home show (this evening...!? Hopefully). And, finally, I'm working on rolling out a whole bunch of media I've been sitting on for years. I'll be releasing singles, music videos, and more in a whole "From The Vault" series following my birthday on the 19th.

I'm not gonna lie, I've had MANY days where I've let the lack of work and hugs and jam nights get me down. There are many things I told myself I'd do but chose to nap instead. This whole experience is trying on so many of us in so many different ways. Right now, I'm in an upswing and focusing on how I feel a greater sense of closeness to the people I love and embracing all the silver linings. If you want to join me for my live streams, you can do so here or follow me on Facebook. I can't wait to see you all in person again!
